Swamp Fox Clash of Clans guide to upgrading:

Note: rushing can be very detrimental to your clan.Do not rush or you will regret it and you will hate the game.

First thing you will want to prioritize in upgrading defensively is your splash defenses because they hit multiple targets at once. You need to upgrade your splash damage weapons first. By this I mean weapons that do damage to multiple troops at one time. These weapons include your mortars and your wizard towers.
Why upgrade these first? Because they can single handily win you a defense against an attacker. Like I mentioned above, they can destroy multiple enemy troops at once making them an awesome defensive weapon.Next upgrading your defense weapons that can attack both air and ground troops is a good idea. These weapons would be your archer towers and your teslas.

You upgrade your splash weapons first, and then other defense items. Keep the upgrades going in line. Do not upgrade wizard towers twice to any other. Also, keep upgrading until you are told you need to upgrade town hall. At this point you upgrade your castle, then your walls until walls are maxed. You also want to upgrade troops until your laboratory tells you that you can not upgrade anymore. When all items are maxed, including walls, then you upgrade town hall and move forward.

The wizard tower is overall a more important defensive building because it does damage to ground and air units.

This helps when getting attacked by minions and in some cases even balloons because they sometimes all bunch up near defenses. Wizard towers also do more damage per second. Yes, the strength of the mortar is that since its wait time to fire is so high it'll tear out all tier 1 units in one strike, but it being slow also causes it to miss sometimes because troops run. A wizard tower shoots faster and can at least make a troop weaker for a point defense to take out. Wizard towers can really do quick damage to any goblins, minions, barbs and archers eating at your storage's.

Air defenses are next on the list of importance.  you don't want to be vulnerable to air raids. If you have low level air defenses, you're going to be getting hit by balloon-minion and dragon based raids at higher levels of game play, and healer-giant raids at lower levels.

ATTACKING and EXPENSE

Being in war is expensive. That is the worse part of all - the expense. However, You have to OPT IN to be in war, thereby -- why are you complaining?
War although  is fun, it is entertainment and it keeps you busy and you would not have joined had you not liked it. In fact, you would not have stayed had you not liked it.
However, the ones who continue to be stingy during war and settle for one star because of their choice of cheap troops are only hurting the entire clan and it will not be tolerated any longer.
The ones of you who choose to be lazy and do not attack during first 12 hours of war are also hurting the entire clan, especially if you are capable of three starring your mirror and choose to wait until the final hour when cleanup only offers one star per attack. Not good for you, not good for the clan.

Henceforth, everyone must use a troop combination that they know for sure will three star an opponent. If your strong troops still does not improve your star tally then you need to upgrade troops or upgrade your strategy.  It is understandable that not all war bases can be three starred but there are times that it is very obvious that you are using archers and barbarians because you are too cheap to use good troops. You actually act as though the loot is coming out of your physical pocket and that it is hurting your bank account. WAKE UP! the loot is free and comes with time. Time is your only expense. Why do your best? Because the better we do, the higher levels we achieve and with that come special bonuses and perks, yes PERKS!

IF YOU OPT IN FOR WAR please give it your best shot.

Creating a better war base

Creating a better war base

There are many, many posts out there on creating a war base. There are some for zero stars, anti-three star, etc. ; and some downplay the hybrid bases - which is a base that can be used as both a village base and a war base.
Plain and simple, its all the same, the point, the main focal point is to prevent the enemy from destroying your base. In war , the less stars the enemy scores against you the better off you are and the better off your clan stands in the war.

The first place to start is with the war castle. I have seen people put their's all the way to one end and that is so bad in a war base. All Swamp Fox Clan members are to keep their war castles in the very center of the war village. Placing it in the center helps prevent luring. Place your castle in such a way that when you click on it the circle (protection area) stays within the war village walls. This is a great preventive against luring. The enemy will waste time trying to lure and this is your best asset because the enemy will waste all this valuable time trying to lure your castle troops out and they won't leave. This is the best thing you can do towards helping your clan win the war.

The next step towards building a better war base , and village base, is to use the old proverbial building in a far corner. Place a hidden tesla  or bomb next to the building. A tesla does a better job , this is another point that creates confusion, lost troops and lost time for the enemy. So do this for your base, also.

Requirements of being a Clan co-leader

To those who are already Co-Leaders and those who are thinking of being a co-leader. The rules have changed. From henceforth obligations for co-leader will encompass filling war castles.

Currently there are five co-leaders and none have donated as much as the leader. The duties of a co-leader are to relieve the border for the leader . Currently the leader has donated over 6,601 troops. None of the co-leaders have approached this level of donation. And , of course, it is not expected of anyone to match that total . However, a co-leader who is donating less than he or she received will not be tolerated for long.

It is expected that out of a 15 player war three co-leaders share the burden with each taking on five castles to fill.

It is not expected for a co-leader to stay up late nights  but if the time zone he or she lives in allows it then that person should take on a evening shift.

The duties of a co -leader shall be as follows:

  •  to keep the peace within the clan
  • to consult with leader if it appears that someone needs to be kicked from clan.
  • to donate to clan members requesting donations.
  • to keep an eye on clan member villages and war bases and make sure that the bases and villages are maintaining the absolute best defense possible.
  • To make suggestions to clan members on what should be upgraded next and  to render permission to proceed with a town hall upgrade .
  • To take turns with other co-leaders in monitoring clan chat for when clan members report which targets they are attacking.
  • Co-leaders are to make sure that clan members are attacking the correct targets.
  • Co-leaders are to give suggestions on a suggested plan of attack and suggested troops when asked. They should make sure they are capable of giving such advice.
  • Co-leaders are to be active and should set an example as to how clan members should behave and on proper protocol.
  • C0-leaders make it a point to be as active as humanly possible.
  • All Co-leaders are required to connect with leader on Google Hangouts and on the Face Book group site  . If the group site seems unreachable you can friend the leader and request that he add you to the group site.
  • You can also contact leader by email

Clan Rules

All clan members are to follow these rules. There will be no exceptions, failure to not follow rules will result in either demotion or being kicked.

Donating & requesting

Members are not to request what they can not donate except during times of war. If a member can not produce a dragon then that member should not request a dragon or whatever troop that can not be produced. Now in times of war members can request max troops and whatever will fit inside their clan castle.

Members are to maintain a minimum of 5:1 donation ratio. That is 1 troop for every 5 received. Example: if you have received troops totaling 25 spaces then you should have already donated troops equally up to a minimum of 5 spaces. However, Ideally a good clan member will donate much more.

Also, Donate only what is requested. If someone requests dragon do not donate wizards or vice versa unless you ask first.

language

No cussing allowed. Use clan chat with proper etiquette, do not cuss, no vulgar language, have respect for each other.

Attacking during war

Clan members are to attack mirror on first attack. Example: If your position on the map is #8 then you are to attack the enemy in the #8 position on the war map.
  • Always check with leader before attack.
  • Check clan chat before attack for directives from leader.
  • Check clan mail before attack. In fact, clan mail should be checked each time you log into game or anytime you see an alert.
  • Second attack takes place at and after midpoint of war. This takes place at 12th hour and after. Members are to attack from 1 to 3 levels below their mirror. A member can only attack upward if member has three starred mirror in first attack.
  • Both attacks are mandatory. Failure to complete second attack will result in not being in next war. A second time of not completing second attack will result in demotion. If there is a third time it will result in being kicked.
  • At the 6th hr (six hours remaining in war) all targets are legal game. Attack any level (position target) at this phase in the war.
  • There are times that last position player (#10 in a ten player war) will zero star. Clan leader will possibly ask everyone to drop down one on attack when such things occur. (Example: if you are #8 you would attack #9). This does not happen often.
  • PS: if you can not read this you should not be a clan member.

 promotions

  • position of elder will be obtained either during first or second war. Getting this promotion depends on how you perform, how you follow rules and how helpful you are in clan and in maintaining your donations.
  • position of co-leader -- this position is not given out liberally. It is not an easy position to obtain. Normally this promotion is not handed out until a minimum of six months in the clan, unless the member is a former member which the leader knows. To be a co-leader a person must help leader in donating, must donate more than regular members and must be helpful to leader. A co-leader must be there to help during those times when the leader is not present or to help leader even when leader is present. Any questions you can email leader.
  • PS: Do not bug leader for promotions. Your actions will speak louder than your requests.
